A patched up reserves come from behind against the league leaders
Welling Town Reserves travelled to Danson Sports today off the back of 2 defeats
With 5 changes to the starting 11 due to injuries and availability a patched up reserves took to the field.
In the opening 20 minutes Welling played some excellent passing football which was rounded off with a goal from the inform Luke Bewick.
Danson hit back with 2 goals before half time, a break from a set piece levelled it at 1-1 before a contraversial penalty made it 2-1 to the hosts just before half time.
Danson were quick out the blocks and made it 3-1 in the 50th minute.
Welling refused to give up and created a number of half chances before Marcus pulled one back from a counter attack 3-2.
Welling’s tails were up and it was 1 way traffic in the last 5 mins
Welling thought they had equalised but the goal was chalked off for what was believed to be an offside. Instead the ref gave the free kick to Welling for an earlier foul. The Welling management were surprised as they would have preferred the advantage being played.
In the dying seconds George Ackland was upended in the box and the ref pointed to the spot
